HOW WE CHECK TRUMP IN 2026
To stop Trump, Democrats have to take back control of the US congress. This fight may be decided by a very small number of races with potentially razor-thin margins. In Pennsylvania alone, three congressional districts were decided by 4,000 to 6,000 votes. These are exactly the kinds of elections that deep canvassing, with enough time to plan and build, can decide.
Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, represented by Republican Scott Perry is one of our best chances to put checks and balances on Trump. Perry is the former leader of the far right wing House Freedom Caucus, leading architect of the January 6th storming of the capital, and spreader of conspiracy theories Perry is also is credited with bringing the anti-semitic and racist White ‘replacement theory’ to Congress.
Most importantly, Scott Perry votes to give Trump everything that he wants, every single time. He’s also one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the US House, where Republicans hold a slim 5 seat advantage. He won his seat by 5,000 votes: ~1% of the vote. To win back this seat, we need to connect with enough people who will support the Democrat – and otherwise wouldn’t vote. We’re hard at work in Harrisburg, the biggest city in the district.
If we flip the house, we’ll gain the power to block executive and judicial appointments, stop harmful legislation, launch investigations, issue subpoenas, and more — all while building momentum to take back the presidency in 2028.
We must organize effectively and strategically so that we can swarm those competitive seats to make our wins decisive. These wins must be decisive enough that it’s impossible to fudge the numbers.
We also must ensure Congress does their duty to stop this regime’s criminal attacks on our families, our neighboring countries and our earth.
That’s why we’re laser focused on doing what we can to flip congress. We’re targeting districts because we don’t have to fight for every single vote. We need to fight for very specific votes.
