WHAT IS AND HOW DO I EARLY VOTE?
Early voting in PA is not going to your election day polling place. During the early voting period, you will go to a satellite election office or board of elections office and do the following:
- Visit any local satellite election office
- Need to bring: Driver’s license or PennDOT ID*
- Apply for mail-in ballot and wait there to receive ballot
- Complete the ballot on-site and turn it in! Done!
DEADLINE: Oct 27th, 5PM If you have already requested your ballot, you may continue to drop off your ballot and/or request a replacement ballot past the deadline up until election day at the satellite election offices or board of elections office. Your ballot must be submitted by 8PM on election day.
WHAT IF I SUBMITTED MY MAIL IN BALLOT APPLICATION AND HAVEN’T RECEIVED IT YET?
Those who have not received their mail-in ballot yet can check the status here. If you have received it at the wrong address and you are not able to get the ballot from that address or it got lost in the mail, you may visit any satellite election office or the board of elections office to request a replacement ballot and submit it the same day. WHAT IF I’M PHYSICALLY UNABLE TO VISIT MY SATELLITE OFFICE OR POLLING LOCATION?
Those who are physically unable to personally pick up or submit an Absentee or Mail-in Ballot may designate a representative - in writing - to deliver the absentee ballot to the voter and then have that same individual return the completed absentee ballot to the County Board of Elections, by completing a Designated Agent Authorization form or in case of a recent illness, an Emergency Designated Agent Authorization form or pick it up at the county board of elections office.
What are valid forms of ID?
New voting early registrations are required to bring ID the first time they vote, either photo or not:
Approved forms of photo identification include:
Pennsylvania driver’s license or PennDOT ID card
ID issued by any Commonwealth agency
ID issued by the U.S. Government
U.S. passport
U.S. Armed Forces ID
Student ID
Employee ID
If you do not have a photo ID, you can use a non-photo identification that includes your name and address.

Non-photo ID issued by the Commonwealth
Non-photo ID issued by the U.S. Government
Firearm permit
Current utility bill
Current bank statement
Current paycheck
Government check

For those voting early that are already registered to vote but haven't yet registered to vote by mail, you must supply your PA Driver’s License or PennDOT issued photo ID card number in the Identification section.
If you do not have a PA Driver’s License or PennDOT issued photo ID card, you must supply the last four (4) digits of your Social Security number.
If you do not have a valid form of either of these types of identification, please check the box titled “I do not have a PA driver’s license or a PennDOT ID card or a Social Security number” in the Identification section. If you choose this option, you must enclose a photocopy of an acceptable ID.
U.S. Passport
U.S. Military ID (active duty and retired military ID may designate an expiration date that is indefinite). Military dependents' ID must contain a current expiration date.
Employee photo identification issued by Federal, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania County, or Pennsylvania Municipal government.
Photo identification issued by an accredited Pennsylvania public or private institution of higher learning.
Photo identification issued by a Pennsylvania care facility, including long-term care facilities, assisted living residences and personal care homes.
